The real story of Chanukah is of 80,00 men, women, and children killed or enslaved.

Since Chanukah is coming up and people are checking a post I wrote last year on Chanukah and has many hits (don't know if that is because of the picture I posted) Maybe I should post it again to get people to look at this post.

This the Karaite Jews of Chanukah and the fact that there is little to celebrate. If anything it is a sad day.

The real miracle as sent on the link is as follows. That we survived having Jewish men only interested in their own power grabs. From the link.

"The real miracle is that after all these men from our own people finished playing their political games and fulfilling their personal agendas, that we still survived their efforts."

But anyway historically there was a struggle between the Greeks and Jews. But as well different Jewish groups were fighting to seize power for themselves power that they weren't entitled to and this led to calamity for the Jewish people at that time. And there never was any real independence. If anything it is time to be somber and certainly nothing to celebrate. Worse for the Rabbis to make this into a day we use God's name when is just wrong and that God commanded us to celebrate us is absolute blasphemy . It is not a biblical holiday although there is nothing with celebrating something good that happened but what you can't do is claim God commanded you to do it.

NOT REALLY. WE SHOULD REMEMBER THE 80,000 ENSLAVED BECAUSE OF THE POLITICS OF MEN WANTING TO SEIZE POWER FOR THEMSELVES AT THAT TIME THAT DID NOT BRING ANY FREEDOM. But hope those who read my other post with this photo read this one.

Here is part of this link about the real history at that time.

. In fact my Chanukah is somewhat of a more sombre occasion. It is a dedication to the memory of up to 80,000 men, women and children that either died or were enslaved as a result of the politics of the time. So in essence, the candles are lit as a Yizkor to honour the dead, and their are no recitations of blessings proclaiming that God instructed me to do so since this was neither a war of liberation, nor a war in the defense of God. Should anyone bother to research the history they would quickly realize this was more a civil war than one between nations and even after the so-called liberation, Judea was still a satrapy under the dominion of the Seleukid Empire but the only thing different was it now had its own king. And more than that, a king that was not even entitled to assume that position. So let's get it straight; Chanukah had less to do with the assertion of religious freedoms and more to do with politics, politics, and more politics. But since most aren't familiar with the history, let me provide it to you.

Thanks for posting. Interesting.
So this historically isn't true and was developed later on.

I did take a look at the trumpet site you read and feel they don't really love God and the torah and put their own idea's of equality above the rules of God.

At this post not too thrilled with the Karaites as to be honest this story may just be the Karaites projecting. The story I posted.

I really do feel the Karaites seem to want to use their positions as well to harm Jews men and slander them and teach women to hate them simply by doing this it gives them the control of women stupid enough to fall for their malarky. They also seem to reach other groups who also don't care much for Jewish people. So to be fair the Karaites are part of this problem of those seeking political power and wanting to enslave their own and not even caring that doing this harms their own people.
